I was talking with this guy the other day that most would consider a nice guy. Long story short, he was nice enough but I still didn't have a good feeling about him.
Remember that line from Hitch where Will Smith says "60% of all human communication is nonverbal, body language; 30% is your tone, so that means 90% of what you're saying ain't coming out of your mouth"?
It triggered a few thoughts about how outsiders see the church. Any person with an observing eye can see right through to a sincere person or a sarcastic person, a caring person to a inconvenienced person, a genuine spirit to a greedy spirit. I think that's why that guy caught me so off guard: his words did not match his body language at all.
What's our "body language" saying? Not necessarily our actions speaking louder than our words, rather, our body language and our words actually making sense together in harmony, in symphony, in agreement.
